Staff and volunteers
Hornby Institute is a village hall that isn’t a village hall, and the only Institute in the lower Lune Valley. And the carved words above the main door proudly proclaim this.
The Institute is run by a small army of volunteers and caretaker Jeff Whittaker.
Volunteers
The volunteers comprise a committee with overall running of the Trust; helpers who make refreshments for the Drop-In; people who represent the various groups who meet here, and fundraisers who are so very important.
When a fundraising event needs cakes and scones the bakers really rise to the occasion – with delicious offerings – and the best brownies ever tasted!
Can you help?
We are always looking for new ideas for events or gatherings and would love to hear yours. If you would like to talk about ideas or help out in any way, please contact the manager – and you will be made most welcome.
Contact the institute by phone, email or contact form.
